Panthers Sink Spring Behind Barnett’s One-Hitter!

Chase Barnett was the winning pitcher tonight defeating
Spring 8-1. Barnett had five walks and five strikeouts on the mound tonight.
Spring’s only hit tonight was a homerun in the fifth inning. Seniors Scott
Arthur and Wes Theiss were both under the weather, being the competitors
they are gave stellar performances offensively and defensively. Between
Theiss and Arthur, they were responsible for 8 outs tonight including
another double play for the season (6-4-3) to first baseman Ethan Carnes.
Offensively, the Panthers had nine hits for the game.
Arthur led off the first inning with a triple. Kaleb Goodell flew out to
center, but earned an RBI when Arthur tagged and scored for the first run of
the game. No runs were scored in the second inning, but CJ Manning came out
of his slump with a great hit to left field.
In the third inning Theiss led off the inning with a
walk. He advanced to third on a single hit to center by Garrett Harrison.
Ethan Carnes walked to load the bases. Brent McMinn walked to score Theiss
making the score 2-0 in the third inning.
In the fourth inning the Panther bats got really hot.
Arthur led off the inning with a double. Goodell singled to center. Theiss
got on with an error at third loading the bases.
