Barnett’s 6 Strikeouts Lead Panthers to Win Over Madison!
March 6, 2008
In the second game of the double header on day one of the San Antonio tournament, the temperature dropped and felt like the low 30s.
The Panthers were valiant and steadfast in these tough playing conditions behind winning pitcher Chase Barnett to run-rule Madison in four innings 17-5. Barnett threw 70 pitches with one walk and six strikeouts to win the game. Defensively, we had a few errors, but since the fans could barely feel their feet or hands, you know the players were having a tough time.
Offensively, the Panthers had fourteen hits.
Scott Arthur 1 for 3 with a single, BB, and an RBI
Andy Wilson 2 for 3 with two singles, BB, and an RBI
Wes Theiss 2 for 4 with two singles and two RBIs
Garrett Harrison 0 for 3 with a walk, FC, and an RBI
Travis Walker 3 for 4 with a single, two doubles, and 3 RBIs
Joel Hudson (DH) 2 for 2 with a triple, a single, and two BBs
