Panthers prevail against Klein 7-3!
April 11, 2008
Revenge is sweet ! Even if it is in darkness.
The JV entered this game ready to put right the heartbreak of their previous
encounter with Klein. There was no one more determined than Wade Halfmann
whose first swing of the bat sent the ball way over the left field fence for
a 2 run HR. This was Wade's first home run for Oak. Way to go Wade! Oak 2-1
ahead after the first.
The first inning set the tone for the rest of the game as Klein kept
nibbling away with the occasional hit and occasional run while Oak's
determination saw them string together multiple hit innings and score a
couple of runs each inning.
By the bottom of the 5th Oak was ahead 7-3 with 9 hits compared to Klein's 5
hits. Then with 2 outs and Blake Diver at the plate ......the lights went
out. Not to worry though, Klein had batted in 5 innings so the result
stands, Oak gets the win and Klein takes the loss.
Tyler Mason did a great job on the mound coming off 4 days rest from
pitching 4 innings in Monday's game at Tomball. Tyler finished with: 5IP,
5H, 2BB's, 5K's and ready for a well earned rest.
Wade Halfmann added to his 2 run homer with a RBI double to deep left center
in the 4th and there were also RBI's for Luis Armas (1) and Matt Lara (1).
Oak's hitting was aggressive all the way down the line up with each batter
getting the ball in play and keeping the pressure on Klein.
Keep it going in the remaining games guys !
