Congratulations, Kevin Cravey!
Kevin ('06) signed with the Florida Marlins, led their rookie team in ERA and was promoted to "A" league in Jamestown! Kevin signed with the Florida Marlins in June after participating in a Major League tryout camp in Oklahoma (only signee of 180 attending). He is pitching for the Marlins Rookie team in Palm Beach, Florida and has been dominant with a league leading ERA of 0.85, and he hasn’t issued a free pass in the last 28 innings. The Astros #1 draft pick, Delino DeShields, jr., made his professional debut last week against Cravey who struck him out twice. What makes Kevin’s performance even more remarkable, is that when he toed the rubber June 30 against the Cardinals, the lead-off batter was the first player Kevin had faced in two years! Update: Kevin has just been promoted to NY with the Marlins short-season “A” team in Jamestown. He’s had two outings and 4 perfect innings there. Kevin will be graduating from A&M this fall with a degree in Human Resources. |
